Arm/Disarm Indefinitely

The Arm Indefinitely (24/7) and Disarm Indefinitely (Off) buttons allow you to arm or disarm the alarm system for as long as you wish.

Note: Selecting either of these buttons overrides the alarm schedule. To re-enable the alarm schedule, you must select either the Schedule, Disarm Temporarily or Arm Temporarily buttons.

Arm Indefinitely (24/7): Select this button to arm the alarm system. The alarm system remains armed until you disarm it manually or select the Schedule button to follow the alarm schedule.

Note: The Arm Indefinitely (24/7) option may not be available to all users. If it is unavailable to you and you would like to learn more, please contact our Support team.

null

Disarm Indefinitely (Off): Select this button to disarm the alarm system. The alarm system remains disarmed until you arm it manually or select the Schedule button to follow the alarm schedule.

null

Arm/Disarm Temporarily

The Disarm Temporarily and Arm Temporarily buttons allow you to temporarily disarm or arm the system until the next alarm schedule function takes effect.

Arm Temporarily: Select the Arm button to override the alarm schedule and immediately arm the alarm system. The system remains armed until the alarm schedule is expected to disarm the system again.

Arm/Disarm Methods

This section describes all of the available methods for arming and disarming Solink alarms, in addition to how to arm before an alarm is triggered vs. after.

Methods to Arm/Disarm Before Alarm Triggers

The following methods allow you to arm/disarm alarms before the alarm has been triggered:

1. Solink Apps

With the correct permissions, you can login to the Solink iOS and Android apps to arm/disarm. There are options to temporarily disarm (for example, during an overnight delivery) or disarm indefinitely (for example, ahead of closing a location).

See the Mobile Apps section further below in this article for more information.

Note: Please reach out to our Support team if you require mobile app alarm permissions.

2. Arm and Disarm as an "Alarm-Only" User

You may want to provide someone with the ability to arm / disarm, but without any other access to Solink (e.g., the user would only be able to arm and disarm, not watch live video streams, clips, etc.).

Note: Please reach out to our Support team to configure an "alarm-only" user.

3. Telephone Line

You can arm and disarm via an on-site phone (similar to a traditional pin pad, but using a phone).

When an alarm is triggered, Solink calls the phone number. Anyone can answer, enter a PIN and disarm for a designated period of time (e.g., 30min). If a PIN is not entered within 90 seconds, or an incorrect PIN is tried twice, the alarm is still created and sent to our monitoring partner for video verification.

For more information on this feature, click here.

4. Guest Access

Configure Guest Access to allow employees, third parties, etc. to disarm a location with their phone. As a guest, an authorized person is allowed to text a number to disarm the location.

5. Scheduled Exceptions

Scheduled exceptions allow you to disarm the system for a period of time outside of the alarm schedule.

Exceptions can be enabled for all alarm cameras, or only a few (for example, disarm the delivery door, but keep the cash office camera armed). Exceptions can be used for holidays, deliveries, etc. and can be scheduled to repeat or occur once.

6. Geofencing (Beta iOS only)

*Please note: this feature is currently in beta and available to a limited amount of customers.*

You can use your iOS device to arm / disarm via geo-fencing. With the iOS Solink app, you can grant location access permission to Solink so we know the precise location of the mobile device. When the device crosses a "digital line" (ingress and egress) the system arms/disarms (or auto disarm on entry, send notification on exit, etc. This is configurable.).

Reach out to our Support team at 1-888-335-9844 (6 A.M - 12 A.M EST) to learn more about this feature.

Methods to Disarm After Alarm Triggers

The following methods allow you to disarm alarms after the alarm has been triggered:

1. Disarm Via Alarm Event Card

If an active alarm has been triggered, you can view it from the Recent Alarm Events section on the Alarms tab. You can disarm the event from here and specify the length of time to disarm (for example, 30 minutes).

null

For more information, see Temporarily Disarm an Open Alarm.

2. Request Monitoring Agent to Disarm

*This method only applies if you are subscribed to our Video Alarms Monitoring service.*

When a monitoring agent reaches out to your alarm contact(s) if they determine there is a threat to person or property, or if they are unsure if there is a threat, the contact(s) receive an SMS text message and/or a phone call. In response, the contact(s) can instruct the agent to disarm the alarm for them. (e.g., “There is a delivery happening for the next 2 hours. We forgot to add a scheduled exception. Please disarm for 2 hours”).
