Heatmap on iOS

The Heatmap feature allows you to see where motion occurs most frequently.

Rather than tracking temperature like a traditional heatmap, Solink's Heatmap feature uses similar colors to display where the most motion has occurred in a given camera. In the example below, the red areas represent high motion areas, followed by yellow and green for areas with less motion:

null

You can activate the Heatmap on any of your recorded footage (not live video). To activate the Heatmap:

  1. Tap the more options button in the top-right corner (three horizontal lines).

  2. Tap Show heatmap. This activates the Heatmap.

Note: You can adjust the Heatmap time window from the iOS Settings page. The time window determines the span of time that the heatmap captures motion from (the last hour, three hours, etc.).

Motion Search on iOS

Your cameras record video at your business non-stop; when there is something you want to look at or search for within your video footage, you may find it overwhelming to locate anything due to the sheer amount of footage available.

Motion Search allows you to identify a key area of video and then search for any interaction within that area. It can be used when something goes missing, someone uses a backdoor, or even to audit employee break times.

To initiate a motion search, tap the motion search icon in the iOS video player (ensure you are not viewing live video):

null

You can conduct a motion search by drawing with your finger over the area you want to detect motion in.

The blue bars at the bottom of the video player represent motion in the area you specified and you can cycle between these instances of motion using the video player buttons:

AI motion search allows you to search the camera for only motion with a person or vehicle in the selected area. If AI motion search is enabled, you are presented with the option to toggle between a regular motion search or human/vehicle motion search when you select the motion search icon:

null

For more information on AI motion search, click here.

Snapshot on iOS

You can take a "snapshot" of the view on your device screen and save it automatically to your device image gallery/library.

Save a Clip from the iOS Video Player

You can save a video clip from a certain start and end time via the Save Clip button (tap the More Options list - three horizontal lines - to access the Save Clip button):

null

Once you have selected the Save Clip button, you can set the start and end time for the clip:

  1. Scroll along the timeline using your finger, then select Tap to set under Start to set the start time for the clip.

  2. Then repeat this process for End to set the end time for the clip.

  3. Select Next to navigate to the Save Clip menu.

Fill out the following information to save the clip:

  • Add Notes to the clip (optional, may help you or others understand the context of the clip later on when reviewing).

  • Enter email(s) of the recipients you want to receive this clip.

  • Choose the visibility. Public means the clip can be viewed by anyone, including non-Solink users; Private means the clip can only be shared with Solink users.

Once you have filled out the information, select Save to save the clip and share it with the desired recipients.

null

Where are Clips Stored?

You can access you clips on iOS from the Events page. Tap the Clips button near the top of the Events page to view your saved clips:

You can also view your saved clips from the Clips page in the Solink platform.

Download Video on iOS

The Download Video button allows you to download a 2-minute clip directly to your device storage. This is different from the Save Clip feature, which allows you to save a clip directly to the Solink app.

The Download Video button is available from the More Options list - three horizontal lines. Ensure you are not viewing live video to access this button.

If you want to quickly save a 2-minute clip, tap the Download Video button:

Share Video Link on iOS

You can tap the Share video link button in the video player to retrieve a URL link to the current camera/video you are viewing. You can then share this link with another Solink user who has access to this camera - when the users clicks the link you shared, they are sent directly to the point in time on the camera/video you were viewing.

The Share video link button is helpful if you find something of interest and want another Solink user to take a look at the camera at the exact point in time you viewed the footage. This can save you a bit of time if you do not want to save a clip of the point of interest:

null

The iOS save and share options appear when you tap the Share video link button. You can then select to send the link in a text message, mail, or via another app from the list:

null

Configure Motion Zones on iOS

Motion zones are primarily intended for video alarm use. You can set up motion zones for your cameras to detect motion in a specified area during an alarm period.
