You can designate an alarm contact to receive a notification via text and/or email if an alarm occurs at one of your locations.

Alarm Contact Limits

The number of alarm contacts you can assign to a location depends on which type of subscription you have:

Assign Alarm Contact

To assign an alarm contact:

  1. From the Alarms page > Alarm Configurations, select Assign Contacts.

  2. Choose a contact from the left column.

  3. Drag and drop the contact into the right column.

  4. Type the contact's phone number into the Cell Phone Number field:

  5. Select Save to save the assigned contact.

Note: When you enter the contact's phone number, ensure they consent to receive SMS messages from Solink. You can remove the contact's phone number to unsubscribe them from receiving SMS messages at any time, but you will need to input another phone number into the field to proceed.

Tip: To unassign a contact, either select the X icon for that contact or drag and drop the contact from the right column to the left. Select Save to save your changes.

Add External Contact

Additionally, you can add a non-Solink user as an alarm contact. Select Add External User in the right-hand alarm contact column to create an external contact (input their name, phone number and email address):

Manage Alarm Contacts

You can further manage alarm contacts via the Alarm Contacts tab (Alarms page > Alarm Contacts):

To add a new alarm contact from the Alarm Contacts tab:

  1. Select the +Add button:

    null

  2. Select whether to add an existing Solink user or external user as an alarm contact:

    • To add an existing Solink user, select Solink user, then select an existing user from your account via the dropdown menu:

      null

    • To add a user outside of your Solink account, select External user:

      null

    • Fill out the person's full name, email and cell phone number. Please note: When you enter the contact's phone number, ensure they consent to receive SMS messages from Solink. You can remove the contact's phone number to unsubscribe them from receiving SMS messages at any time, but you will need to input another phone number into the field to complete the form.

  3. Next, assign the user to the available location(s). You can optionally select Show alarm contacts to see contacts you are about to add and existing contacts for your locations. Any new contact(s) you are about to add are highlighted in blue (see image below):

    null

  4. Select Save to apply the changes.

Alarm Contact Calls (Professionally Monitored Video Alarms)

If you are subscribed to Solink's Professionally Monitored Video Alarms service, an alarm verification agent calls your alarm contacts when an alarm occurs.

Data associated with any call from a verification agent to an alarm contact is recorded in an alarm event. This data includes:

  • The exact time the verification agent made the call to the alarm contact.

  • The alarm contact's first and last name.

  • The alarm contact's phone number.

  • If the alarm contact did not answer (No answer).

  • The duration of the answered call(s).

You can access these alarm events via Recent Alarm Events or the Events page > Alarms tab:
