Solink Mobile App: Clips

Important Note for Mobile Users
This guide is for the new, unified Solink app (released 2026) on iOS and Android. We highly recommend upgrading to this latest version.

The Clips page in the Solink mobile app allows you to view your saved video clips.

Filter and Search Clips

Use the filters at the top of the Clips page to filter by the following:

  • Location: Filter clips to one or more locations. Tap to open the location picker.

  • Date: Choose which day to view. Defaults to today; your selection is remembered.

  • Favourite Clips (star icon): Only display events that have been favourited.

  • Search: Tap the search icon and type to find clips with a specific name.

Additionally, you can filter by All, Public and Private clips:

Clips visible only to you and people you shared them with

Depending on your permission level, you can designate a clip as public or private when saving. See How to Save a Clip on Mobile for more information.

How to Save a Clip on Mobile

You can save clips directly from the video player, whether you are viewing an event or just viewing video footage from any of your cameras.

Create Clip

  1. Tap Create Clip in portrait mode in the video player to get started.

  2. Optionally adjust the following to adjust your clip:

    1. Change date: Change the date for this clip to another day.

    2. Duration: Tap and move the handles at the beginning or end of clip to adjust the clip duration.

    3. Start/End: Set a start and end time for the clip (also adjust duration more precisely than using the handles).

  3. Once you are happy with the clip date and duration, tap Save.

Clip Details

  1. Configure the following clip details:

    1. Give a name that will appear on the clip when someone reviews it later.

    2. Optional link to an Investigation (select existing or create new).

    3. Optional Notes to help other users interpret the clip when reviewing.

    4. Choose whether to use highest quality available when HD is supported

Clip Visibility and Send Via Email

  1. Choose if the clip should be Public or Private:

    1. Public: Anyone in your organization with access to the Clips page can view the clip. Use this for footage you want your team to find easily.

    2. Private: Only you and people you add as recipients can view the clip. Use this for sensitive or limited-audience footage.

  2. Optionally send the clip via email to a specific Solink user or any email. You can also add a message in the Message field to provide further context.

  3. Tap Save.

Linking Clips to Investigations

While saving a clip, you can attach it to an investigation case. See Investigations for managing cases.

Type notes for additional context or check existing notes.

Share Clip (Copy)

Favourite

Favourite this clip. You can then filter for Favourited clips to help you locate them easier.
