The Investigations page in the Solink mobile app allows you to organize events and clips into investigation cases for review, collaboration, and reporting.
To access Investigations, open the side menu (☰) and tap Investigate:
Investigations Overview
The Investigations page features the following functions/sections:
Create a new investigation. See Create New Investigation for more information.
Search by name for investigations.
Open and closed investigations. Open investigations are considered active and in review to help you stay organized, while closed investigations are archived and no longer in review. See Open and Closed Investigations for more information.
List of all investigations.
Create New Investigation
To create a new investigation:
Tap New.
Choose to create a Public or Private investigation.
Public: Everyone in your organization with access to the Investigations page can view and contribute to the case. Use this for collaborative investigations.
Private: Only you, the creator, can see the case. Use this for sensitive or confidential work. Note that private investigations cannot be shared with specific people; to give others access, change the visibility to Public.
Provide a name and description for the investigation.
Tap Save to create the investigation. Next, you can add events and clips to this investigation. Follow the steps in the following section for more information.
Add Events and Clips to Investigations
You can add events and clips to investigations to help you stay organized and review footage easily (assuming you have the correct access based on whether the investigation is public or private).
To add events or clips to an investigation:
Tap the investigation from the Investigations page.
Tap either the Events or Clips tab at the top of the page based on which type of footage you wish to add to this investigation.
Tap Add Event/Add Clip.
Tap on each of the events/clips to add, then tap Save. You can search for the names of clips/events and also sort events by type (Transaction, Motion, etc.) to find the desired items to add.
Edit Investigations
You can edit an investigation if it is Public or if it is Private and you created it. Tap on an investigation to edit it.
Select Edit Details to change any of the following:
Visibility (Public/Private)
Name
Description
Investigation Details
Tap on an investigation to review details, including:
Description
Date created and last updated
Created by
Open and Closed Investigations
Open investigations are active cases you are working on.
Closed investigations have been archived. Closed cases appear under the Closed tab.
Closing or archiving an investigation may be done outside the mobile app (for example in Solink web). The mobile app lets you view closed cases but may not provide a close/archive action on device.
