Written by Ryley White

This article outlines requirements, recommendations, and best practices to ensure your Service Display Monitor (SDM) operates correctly.

Basic Requirements

Please ensure that you meet all of the requirements outlined in this section before installing and using the SDM:

  • Must be subscribed to Solink's AI Package

  • Must have at least one AI monitored zone for tracking vehicles, along with an AI tag. See Enable Vision Analytics for more information on enabling a camera to track vehicles (not people) and Zone Tracking for more information on creating AI-monitored zones

  • The SDM must remain powered 24/7

Hardware Requirements

Additionally, ensure you meet the following hardware requirements:

  • Ensure your cameras are fixed-view, aimed at the menu board and the pickup window. For more information, see the SDM camera placement guide

  • Your Solink Recording Device must be equipped with an on-board AI-accelerator chip

  • Must own a computer with:

    • A stable internet connection and a minimum of 4 GB RAM

    • Operating System: Windows/Linux/Mac

    • OS must be configured to not sleep to prevent the SDM/screen from sleeping during operation

  • Monitor

  • Keyboard and mouse (only required for initial setup)

  • Mobile device with internet for QR code authentication

SDM Recommendations

For optimal performance of the SDM, Solink recommends the following:

  • PC Hardware: Use any mini-form factor PC with the minimum system requirements listed above. Consideration should be given to its ability to be mounted behind the monitor.

  • Monitor: Any 28” or larger LED computer monitor with HDMI input.

  • 120v Power Source: Non-switched power outlet. The SDM must remain powered 24/7. Ensure the SDM is connected to a sustained power source and remains powered on during the night.

  • Mounting: Wall-mounting the monitor and mini-pc is recommended but placement is ultimately up to you.

  • Recommended Browser: Google Chrome

For the best experience, your IT department should consider implementing the following settings. Steps involved may vary depending on your IT environment.

  • Configure auto-login to the PC

  • Configure auto-launch of the Chrome browser

  • Configure auto-open of a specific URL on browser startup: https://sdm.solinkcloud.com/
