You can equip any of your cameras with a Solink-approved, SIP-enabled IP speaker for a variety of use cases.

Requirements to Use SIP Speaker

The "speaker" icon only displays in the video player if you meet the following criteria:

  • You must have a Solink user permission to connect to the speakers.

  • Camera must be paired to the speaker.

  • Must be viewing the video in Live mode.

  • The location network must support low latency video.

If you have any questions about these requirements, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager for more information or clarification.

Connecting to the SIP Speaker

To connect to the speaker:

  1. From the Video page in the Solink platform, locate and select the camera with the connected SIP speaker you want to talk from. Cameras with connected speakers are marked with the "speaker" tag, as shown in the following image:

  2. Select Live mode.

  3. Select the "talk" icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player:

  4. Wait a few seconds to connect to the speaker - you will see a Calling Speaker... indicator before connecting:

  5. The message will update to Speaker Connected once you have fully connected:

Talking via Onsite SIP Speaker

Once you are connected, you can talk into your device (using an embedded microphone/speaker) to communicate directly with anyone at the location near the SIP speaker.

Note: The speaker volume can be configured during the initial setup process. Please contact your Solink Customer Success Representative if you would like to adjust speaker volume.

Take note of the following functionality when on a call:

  • Mute/Unmute: Select the "microphone" icon to mute or unmute voice capability on your end.

  • Voice Level Indicator: This widget changes size in real-time in response to your voice - check this indicator to ensure your voice is being clearly received on the speaker end.

  • Call Duration: The total elapsed time of the call is indicated here.

  • Disconnect Call: Select the "talk" icon to end the call. You will receive a prompt to confirm you want to disconnect from the speaker.

Call Logs for SIP Speaker

SIP speaker call logs provide you with information related to the call, including:

  • Duration: Call length, in seconds.

  • Phone Number: If someone called into the speaker (for example, a verification agent), the user email OR phone number is listed in this field.

You can locate speaker call log events via the Events page > Audit tab:

Strobe Light with SIP Speaker

If you have paired a strobe with the speaker, the strobe automatically flashes whenever the speaker is in use in order to provide a deterrence measure:
