Video from your cameras can be backed up in the Solink cloud for a set number of days, which you can configure on the Cloud Video Backup page in Solink Settings.

Note: You must have admin permissions to access the Cloud Video Backup page.

Check Remaining Camera Backup Storage

Saved Clips and Cloud Video Backup (camera backup) both take up space in the Solink cloud.

You can see how much space has been used and how much is remaining at the top of the Cloud Video Backup page:

Manage Camera Backups

You can manage the number of days each of your cameras are backed in the cloud, in addition to the stream quality of backup footage for each camera (standard definition or high definition).

Depending on your available storage, you may need to reduce camera backup days and quality for some of your cameras.

To get started, ensure you have selected the correct location/pooled locations at the top of the page:

Next, select Manage to start configuring camera backups:

Tip: Use a Filter and/or the location selector to find specific cameras to manage. The available filters allow you to search for the Camera Name (type the name in the search bar), camera Bitrate or current camera Storage Days.

Change Camera Backup Quality

To change the quality of each camera (SD=Standard Definition, HD=High Definition), locate the camera you want to manage and select the dropdown in the Quality column:

You can also change the quality of all cameras at once via the Quality selector above the camera table:

  1. Select the quality to apply to all cameras.

  2. Select Apply to all.

  3. Select Save to confirm.

Note: When changing quality and/or adding a new camera for cloud backup, take note of any increase to the Bitrate and Upload Bandwidth columns as each of your locations are limited by available bandwidth. Learn more in the Bandwidth Limitations section below.

Also take note of the Estimated Storage column to see the amount of data that will be added to your remaining cloud storage space.

Set Camera Backup Storage Days

To set the number of days for a camera to backup footage, locate the camera you want to manage and select the dropdown in the Storage Days column, then select Save to apply the changes:

Note: Backup footage for a camera begins saving in the cloud once you select Save (if the camera was previously not backed up for any amount of storage days, footage begins backup starting from today). The Status column displays the number of days camera footage is backed up in the cloud, as of the present day.

You can also set the storage days of all cameras at once via the Storage Days selector above the camera table:

  1. Select the number of backup storage days to apply to all cameras.

Bandwidth Limitations

Each of your locations have a varying upload bandwidth capacity, displayed in the Upload Bandwidth column. Upload bandwidth is determined by your location's internet plan/speed.

Adding a new camera to cloud backup OR changing the quality from SD to HD contributes to your remaining upload bandwidth.

Be careful not to exceed the limit as you will not be able to save changes to your cloud backup configuration if you surpass the upload bandwidth limit for a location.

Need More Backup Storage? How to Upgrade

Select the Upgrade button near the top of the page to request more storage for your clips and camera backups if required.
