Follow these steps to clean the lens on your camera:

  1. Before you start cleaning the lens, turn off the camera to prevent accidental damage.

  2. Gather the following basic cleaning supplies:

    1. Microfiber cloth.

    2. Lens cleaning solution.

    3. Can of compressed air.

    4. Ladder or step stool if the camera is mounted high up.

    5. It is also recommended to wear latex gloves to prevent fingerprints.

  3. Remove the dome cover. Consult your camera's manual or online documentation for instructions on how to remove the cover.

  4. Use the can of compressed air to blow away loose dust and debris from the camera lens and the surrounding area. This will help prevent scratching the lens when you clean it.

  5. Apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to the microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the camera lens in a circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Avoid pressing too hard to prevent scratching the lens.

  6. Clean the inside and outside of the dome covering the camera as well. Use a separate cloth or a different section of the microfiber cloth, along with lens cleaning solution, to wipe down the dome. Make sure it's clean and free of smudges or fingerprints, as these can affect image quality.

  7. Check for any loose fasteners or screws on the camera housing or mounting bracket. Tighten them if needed to ensure the camera is secure.

Note: Avoid using harsh cleaning chemicals, abrasive materials, or paper towels on the camera lens or dome, as these can damage the lens or leave scratches.

Afterwards, schedule regular checks and cleanings for the camera to prevent dirt and grime buildup. The frequency of cleaning may depend on the kitchen environment and how quickly the camera gets dirty.

Keep a record of when you cleaned the camera and any issues you encountered. This can help with maintenance and troubleshooting in the future.

Remember that maintaining the cleanliness of your dome camera lens is crucial for optimal security performance. Regular cleaning can help ensure that you have clear and reliable footage to monitor your location.
