# Video Player Overview

Learn how to navigate Solink's video player.

The video player allows you to watch and navigate through video recorded by your cameras. You can use the video player to watch live video, but you can also jump to a previous time in the video using the built-in navigation tools.

The **Video** page in the Solink mobile app displays your locations, allows you to open your cameras, and watch live or recorded footage.

### Open Video

You can open a video to watch camera footage, either live or recorded, from either the **Locations** list or the **Camera Groups** list:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-387d7938c47235d53380ee58f4a56ee9958e6e93%2F3401c31c8a74fecb.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Each location and camera group displays:

1. The location or camera group name.
2. The ratio of online cameras to total cameras for both standard cameras (camera icon) and alarm cameras (shield icon) at the location or group.

**Note**: You can [create and manage camera groups](/docs/watch-and-find-video/manage-cameras/camera-groups.md) on the Solink web platform, not on the Solink mobile app.

To open a video and watch camera footage:

1. Tap on a location or camera group.
2. Tap a camera in the grid view to launch it:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0e3258be3a12fea870b9afa4d7e8e2c6540d25be%2F5dcf802c51f0dc90.png?alt=media" alt="" width="360">

To watch several cameras together, see [Watch Multiple Cameras at Once](/docs/watch-and-find-video/manage-cameras/watch-multiple-cameras-at-once-multi-view.md).

### Filter and Search Video

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1b02d4a9a62154332af765356af163591f0fb2aa%2F1459ed382f80608e.png?alt=media" alt="" width="360">

Filter or search to find video faster:

1. Remove or add displayed locations or [location tags](/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/location-management-location-tags.md).
2. Search for location names.

### Watch Video

Tap the video feed to **reveal the player buttons**. Play/pause the video and navigate back and forth 10 seconds at a time:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/watch-and-find-video/video-player-user-interface/video-player-overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
