# Video Player Options

You can access a number of **Player Options** in the top-right corner of the video player via the "Gear" icon:

## Event Overlay

The Event Overlay option allows you to toggle whether receipts from your transaction events display over the video.

**Note:** For more information on receipt overlays, see [View Event Receipts](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/events/navigate-events/view-event-footage.md#view-event-receipts).

***

## Timeline Preview

The **Timeline Preview** slider determines whether video thumbnail previews appear when you hover over the timeline:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7c6151e4a67e1cc284be497fcbc31c2fb9dae68c%2Ff703654478cce399.gif?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

When the slider is active, thumbnails appear when you hover over a timeline event. When the slider is off, thumbnails do not appear on the timeline.

## Limit Event Duration

Some users may come across long events that stretch across the timeline. If you want to "clean up" the timeline in this scenario, you can select the **Limit Event Duration** slider to reduce timeline clutter. Enabling this option reduces the displayed length in the timeline:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-947fdc7c276b6ec93f694c62492d4f734f6e0dfe%2Fefcc5d65dca8bf83.gif?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Enabling this option may hide parts of your events to reduce clutter. A tooltip may be visible at the bottom of the video player to indicate how many events are playing concurrently if some events a have been hidden from view. Select the tooltip to only display events in the list that are currently playing at the selected time:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/watch-and-find-video/video-player-user-interface/video-player-options.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
