# Face Blur

[Solink's AI Package](https://solink.com/ai/) includes the ability to blur faces in footage when saving a clip. **Face Blur** can help you meet compliance standards when sharing video, as well as protect the identity of other individuals featured in camera footage when sharing clips.

**Note**: See [Save Video Clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/save-video-clips.md) for information on how to save video in the Solink cloud and/or locally.

***

## How to Save a Clip and Blur Faces

When saving a clip with a subscription to Solink's AI package, there is an option to toggle **Face Blur** on or off located in the **Video Settings** section.

Select this toggle to use AI to blur all faces in the clip:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-829fb6c239fea9371e547b158c98e8b8bb5e8ab8%2Fc80265880317f588.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Take note of the total blur duration (the amount of time faces are blurred within the clip) as this impacts your allotted monthly Face Blur minutes.

**Note**: Adding additional cameras when saving the clip contributes to the overall Face Blur duration.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-25bbf8eadcc47cf6febd901554c7c52ffda0072f%2F13cd491e452d5516.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

**Note**: With Solink's AI Package, you receive **50 minutes per recording device/per month** of Face Blur time. This time limit can be pooled across locations - so if you have Face Blur on two recording devices, you can use 100 minutes between the two.

Continue to [follow the steps for saving a clip](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/save-video-clips.md) and select **Save** when you are ready to save the clip.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-91fa811fe1171b782e7586653161071842130ec1%2Fb679ecf8e109f4ab.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

**Note**: Clips can take longer to process based on the length of the clip and the speed of your internet. You can exit the Save Clip modal without stopping the clip saving process. Proceed to the [section below](#where-to-access-face-blur-clips) to learn how to locate your clip once it is saved.

## Where to Access Face Blur Clips

Once the clip has finished saving, you can access it from the **Clips** page in the Solink platform.

Clips with Face Blur applied to them are marked with a special icon in the video preview thumbnail that looks like this:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c48b3930f1f54cc2a89e39f16fba33dcdeca5ea0%2F22858be918fbcbdc.png?alt=media)

Clips *without* Face Blur applied to them do not have a special icon and look like this:

To view, edit and email a Face Blur clip, select the "Clip Ready" icon as shown in the following image:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-5f6822c1ff3fd20a5e0125da89c4e75aa6e65342%2F5ba2009c058a8d95.png?alt=media)

This opens a modal where you can view the clip, edit and send via email.

To email the clip, first it is highly recommended to watch the clip and review the Face Blur accuracy via the **View Share** button.

Then:

1. Select the **Email** checkbox.
2. Enter the email addresses you wish to send the clip to in the **Recipients** field.
3. (Optional) Type a message in the **Email Message** field to provide further context to the recipient.
4. Select **Send** to send the clip to the email recipients.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/understand-your-business/ai-features/compliance-analytics/face-blur.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
