# How to Use the Clips Page

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Web" %}
All of your saved clips are stored on the **Clips** page in the Solink platform:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1ec09499d8ab48bc419a7155220f2ed1261ed5ca%2Fe82fe455bf455b73.png?alt=media)
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Mobile" %}
The **Clips** page in the Solink mobile app allows you to view your saved video clips.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-aad230d9bfd6d513167fc4d1fd36628ceab445da%2F1cfbf2a233bd583e.png?alt=media" alt="" width="360">

Swipe left on a clip to reveal the following actions:

* **Notes**: Type notes for additional context or check existing notes.
* **Favourite**: Favourite this clip. You can then filter for favourited clips to help you locate them easier.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

### Search and Filter Clips

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Web" %}
You can add various filters (such as "Create Time" and "End Time") and/or search for clips via the search bar:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0148d6c1795048655e51abd31143a467c4b24372%2Ff31c739b40224ff2.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

The filters and search bar work similarly to the filters and search bar on the Events page. See [Search and Filter Events](/docs/understand-your-business/search-and-save-reports/search-and-filter-events.md) for more information.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Mobile" %}
Use the filters at the top of the Clips page to filter by the following:

* **Location**: Filter clips to one or more locations. Tap to open the location picker.
* **Date**: Choose which day to view. Defaults to today; your selection is remembered.
* **Favourite Clips (star icon)**: Only display clips that have been favourited.
* **Search**: Tap the search icon and type to find clips with a specific name.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1d521682b3295e20d2acbf247b40ce3b89c98f35%2F9a6942dd488fcd8f.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Additionally, you can filter by **All**, **Public** and **Private** clips:

| Tab               | Shows                                                     |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| **All Clips** | Every clip you can access |
| **Public Clips** | Clips visible to everyone in your organization |
| **Private Clips** | Clips visible only to you and people you shared them with |

Depending on your permission level, you can designate a clip as public or private when saving. See [Save Video Clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/save-video-clips.md) for more information.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

### Change Page View

There are two separate views you can switch between to sort through your clips: [**grid view**](#view-clip-details-in-grid-view) and [**table view**](#view-clips-in-bulk-in-table-view).

You can switch views via the top-right corner of the **Clips** page:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9cb20bdf197d06aedb83c44dfe60a680bcd29af3%2Fe99698bc9f85ac46.gif?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

#### View Clip Details in Grid View

Grid view provides a simple layout for viewing all of your saved clips in more detail than table view.

When viewing in grid view, you can watch any of your clips in the video player:

* Select the video thumbnail to watch the clip in Solink's video player:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a7d0b5b39dbe928aa8bad426a8fcd1d0c0a23ccc%2F4873bef624e4fbeb.png?alt=media)

* If the clip was saved in the Solink cloud: select the **cloud icon** next to the clip title > **View Share** to watch the clip in a new window via a shareable link:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1cc6b0849b190b3322b4c07ea5ad2fa54b1cc84c%2Fe64230541f3ba0a3.png?alt=media)

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-5adf60b201641dc677105b43b257f3e8254c24bb%2F368eba665fbe991f.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Within grid view, you can:

* [Copy and share clip links](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/copy-and-share-clip-links-external-share.md)
* [Delete clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/delete-clips.md) (if you have permission)
* [Download clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/download-video-clips.md)

#### View Clips in Bulk in Table View

**Table view** provides a more simplistic method to review, sort and filter your saved clips in Solink.

Table view allows you to sort clips **by date, clip size,** and **duration** in ascending or descending order:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-18affdffe4bc41edd7e2c9ca7e357b00bb939d4c%2Fdff3654f83022088.png?alt=media)

In table view, you can also:

* Select **View Share** to watch the clip in a new window via a shareable link ([copy and share clip links](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/copy-and-share-clip-links-external-share.md))

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-8bc29c375159495cd0c5aa3d01e0eaceedaa2409%2Fee6699ff1a17f95e.png?alt=media)

* View the clip in the Solink video player

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-ea9814097e277525d7aaa5b2c2fb107adae8ee06%2Fa2bc42dfdb45e088.png?alt=media)

* Access more clip options

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-fe38aae0fd1d52c41b65f6a438a8c5f3fb7bccf1%2Fdfa73f83870e3a97.png?alt=media)

### Delete Clips in Bulk

You can delete several clips at once via the **Clips** page **table view**, depending on the type of clip and if you have permission.

You can delete clips as long as they are not tied to an event, such as a transaction, motion or alarm.

To delete clips in bulk:

1. In table view, select the top-left checkbox to select all non-event clips on the page.
2. Select the **Delete** button in the top-right to delete the selected clips.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-864b9fc724965f24300f04a7c2ffff860442962d%2Fd73343e658fa7135.png?alt=media" alt="" width="640">

You can also select the checkbox associated with an individual clip to delete clips manually.

For more information on clip deletion, see [Delete Clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/delete-clips.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/how-to-use-the-clips-page.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
