# Delete Clips

You can delete certain saved clips stored on the **Clips** page. Deleting a clip removes it from the Clips page to help with organization and clutter.

You can currently delete only **Bookmark** clips.

A Bookmark clip is created when you save a clip directly from the video player (for more information on saving a clip, see [Save Video Clips](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/save-video-clips.md)):

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-5cdff4a2572781c41be7a74fe30313c5fa0fd760%2Ff6dce9240ab67815.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Once the clip has been saved, it automatically appears as a Bookmark clip on the Clips page, as shown in the following image:

## How to Delete a Clip

To delete a clip:

1. Navigate to the **Clips** page in the Solink platform:

2. Locate the clip you want to delete. You can switch to **Table View** (select the icon in the top-right corner of the page) to see more clips at once and/or [delete multiple clips at once](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/how-to-use-the-clips-page.md#delete-clips-in-bulk).
3. Select the "more options" button (three dots):

   1. Within the clip card (Grid View)

   **OR** 2. To the very right of the row the clip is located in (Table View)

   <img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0ff22ac428ffeccdf46fdf0941264420c0d4cfbf%2F977a6001519e4179.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">
4. Select the **Delete...** button.
5. Confirm that you want to delete the clip.

Once the clip has been deleted, it is removed from the Clips page.

### Non-Deletable Clips

Some clip types cannot be deleted.

If you have saved a clip directly from an event, such as a **transaction**, **motion**, or **alarm** event, you cannot delete these types of events.

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-672bf157d258561a6c13d5b0ace1732ce022115e%2F91a2b66daa2e5468.png?alt=media)

If you want to delete clips tied directly to an event, please reach out to our [**Support**](/docs/get-started/introductory-guides/how-to-contact-our-team.md) team to discuss deletion of these clips.

### Additional Notes

* You may not see the **Delete...** option if you are not the original creator of the clip, or you do not have the permission on your account to create private clips. Please reach out to our Support team if you saved a clip to the Clips page but do not see the Delete option.
* It is possible to recover a deleted clip. Please reach out to our Support team if you want to recover a deleted clip.
* If you delete a clip, note that the clip is no longer accessible via URL if you previously had shared any links to the clip.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/delete-clips.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
