# VerifEye (Alarm Verification)

Solink **VerifEye** is an alarm verification tool that allows you to review and respond to active alarms in real-time.

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W73OOalZQX0>" %}

VerifEye allows you to quickly review video footage of alarms, determine in-app if there is a threat to person or property, then take appropriate action by choosing one of the following options:

* Dismiss the alarm and select a reason for dismissal if there is **no** threat to person or property.
* Dispatch police (send the dispatch request to a dispatch agent).
* Close the alarm.
* Disarm the alarm.

***

### VerifEye Setup

The following setup is required for VerifEye:

* [VerifEye Phone Number](#verifeye-phone-number)
* [Alarm Contacts](#verifeye-alarm-contacts)
* [Dispatch Instructions (optional)](#dispatch-instructions-optional)
* [Location Instructions (optional)](#location-information-optional)

#### VerifEye Phone Number

Solink will ask daily to input a phone number for VerifEye.

When someone dispatches emergency services with VerifEye, responders will contact the phone number listed in the **My VerifEye Number** field first. Then your **alarm contacts** (Primary and so on) are contacted afterwards.

**Note**: **My VerifEye Numbe**r is available if you are using Solink's monitoring partner for VerifEye dispatch. If you are using in-house dispatch services, **My VerifEye Number** is unavailable.

#### VerifEye Alarm Contacts

Your alarm contacts are displayed on the right-hand side of the VerifEye screen after selecting "Yes" in the workflow.

A dispatch agent contacts alarm contacts **after** the number listed in the **My VerifEye Number** field.

See [Alarm Contacts](/docs/protect-your-locations-with-alarms/alarm-setup/alarm-contacts.md) for more information.

#### Dispatch Instructions (Optional)

Dispatch instructions provide additional context for the dispatch agent to communicate to emergency services. Dispatch instructions can help emergency services better understand how to navigate/what to expect when arriving at the scene.

See [Dispatch Instructions](/docs/protect-your-locations-with-alarms/alarm-setup/alarm-dispatch-instructions.md) for more information.

#### Location Information (Optional)

From the **Configure** tab, you can provide **Location Information** to add additional context for VerifEye users.

The Location Information is displayed on the right side of the VerifEye console:

### How to Verify Alarms

As soon as an alarm triggers, you can verify the alarm via the **Alarms** page > **Recent Alarm Events**.

Select the **Verify** button within the alarm event to begin verification:

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-03196f30dfe55f06496ed4a86b2ad4b217480e33%2Fb14f3682f30508f7.png?alt=media)

Verifying an alarm allows you to quickly assess the situation and choose a **Yes** or **No** option in-app in response to the question: "Is there a threat to person or property?".

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-22ee570d21b1100280ba3b94813db88a3153fbbe%2F0e21344efd91fa8f.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

The following then occurs depending on whether you select "Yes" or "No":

#### Response = "Yes" (There is a Threat to Person or Property)

If you select "Yes", you can confirm there is a threat to person or property. The following options are available if you select "Yes":

* **Call/Talkdown**: If you have a SIP speaker connected to the camera, select the "speaker" icon (bottom-right corner of the video player) to connect to the onsite speaker and talk with/deter the individual(s) onsite. See [Call to SIP Enabled Speaker via Solink Platform](/docs/protect-your-locations-with-alarms/use-and-configure-alarms/calling-sip-enabled-speaker-via-solink-platform.md) for more information.
* **Dispatch Police**: Sends a request to a dispatch agent, who will contact authorities and promptly send them to the location. You will be asked to confirm dispatch if this option is selected. Please note, this option is unavailable if you are using an in-house dispatch service.
* **Close Alarm**: Immediately closes the alarm event. You can review the closed alarm event via **Recent Alarm Events** > **Closed** tab. This option **does not** send a request to dispatch emergency services.
* **Go Back**: Allows you to go back to the previous options (select "Yes" or "No").

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-dc642cf91048d3304e3f5a0f8f1ee17e1c9a457f%2F214c0753fdbf2833.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

![](https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-cfcc2dd76f24201c44c1129d417fbe48158f3fc7%2F37e221d2c07d3bb9.png?alt=media)

If you dispatch police, the video footage is still accessible via **Recent Alarm Events** > **Active Dispatch** tab:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-58522d82ed07794628507ceef2cdacc1798fb36b%2F64c6c245fd35d1fc.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

#### Response = "No" (There is No Threat to Person or Property)

If you select "No", you can follow up to confirm there is no threat to person or property.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-9c2887fc6d74def822b899a08afe3e621b8ef777%2F4f97c30298ea460e.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

You can then select one of the reasons outlined below for why you chose "No".

**"No" Option - Close Alarm**

Selecting any of the following options immediately closes the alarm:

* **No Person:** Select this optionif no person is visible onsite\*\*.\*\*
* **Person in Public Area:** Select this option if a person in a public area within the camera view triggered the alarm.

You can review the closed alarm event via the **Alarms** page > **Recent Alarm Events** > **Closed** tab.

#### "No" Option - Disarm the System

Selecting any of the following options allows you to disarm the system for a set period of time (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes or Until Next Schedule) **OR** close the alarm:

* **Employee:** Select this optionif it is clear an employee triggered the alarm\*\*.\*\*
* **Contractor:** Select this optionif it is clear a contractor onsite triggered the alarm\*\*.\*\*
* **Delivery:** Select this optionif it is clear a delivery person onsite triggered the alarm\*\*.\*\*

No, you can use your own in-house dispatch service.

If you do not wish to use Solink's monitoring partner for dispatch requests, please contact your Solink Customer Success representative to adjust the VerifEye user interface accordingly.

#### What do the blue bars and icons along the bottom of the video player represent when verifying an alarm?

The blue bars along the bottom of the video player represent motion - the higher the bar, the more motion in the camera view during that time.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f8c2c286ca49e099a491ac753507d849d30931d1%2F8b969620b7d56e86.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

The "people" and " vehicle" icons represent the first instance of a person or vehicle triggering the alarm on a camera. You can select the respective icon to view alarm footage from that camera, starting 2 seconds before the person/vehicle triggered the alarm.\
\
The "pin" icon shows the point when the alarm was opened.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-cbfc392d89ef1ef3e8da9660acfefd735df87b83%2Fadd3f2052cc4b32d.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/protect-your-locations-with-alarms/alarms-with-ai-detection/verifeye-alarm-verification.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
