# My Account

Reset your password and set up 2FA.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Web" %}
The **My Account** section in [Solink **Settings**](/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/how-to-access-settings.md) allows you to change your password and enable or disable two-factor authentication (2FA). See the instructions below for more information.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Mobile" %}
Tap **Profile** in **Settings** to view:

* Your name and email
* User type (for example Administrator, Standard, or Guest)
* **Sign Out**: Log out of the app.
* **Account Details**: User ID and account status.

Your profile is also reachable from the user card at the bottom of the side menu.

### Account Types and Visibility

What you see in Settings and across the app depends on your user type:

| User type         | Typical access                                 |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Administrator** | Full features enabled for your organization |
| **Standard** | Features enabled by your administrator |
| **Guest** | Limited access—usually Video and Settings only |

Individual feature access (Events, Clips, Alarms, Access, Insights, and others) is controlled by your organization’s Solink configuration. If a section is missing from navigation, contact your administrator.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Change Password

To change your password, navigate to **Settings** > **My Account**.

Navigate to the **Change Password** section:

Next, follow these steps:

1. Type in a new password in the **New Password** field.
2. Type the same password in the **Confirm Password** field.
3. Select **Submit**.

## Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

It is strongly recommended that you enable **Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)** for your account to help keep it secure.

To set up 2FA, navigate to **Settings** > **My Account**.

Next, navigate to the **Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)** section on the page:

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a7e7fc24e82b7569bd68ced4dfdd8363234b505a%2F164f15d2ded7bc8f.png?alt=media" alt="" width="560">

Select **Enable 2FA** to begin the setup process. You will receive an email with instructions on how to set up 2FA - once completed, you can log in to your Solink account using an authenticator app of your choice for added security.

If at any point you wish to disable 2FA for the account, navigate back to the My Account section in Settings and select **Disable 2FA**:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/my-account.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
