# Cloud Storage Management

Solink allots storage in the cloud for your **saved clips** and **video backup,** while providing the option to upgrade to a higher storage package if required.

The **Cloud Storage** page in Solink [**Settings**](/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/how-to-access-settings.md) allows you to review your storage usage by location in addition to remaining space in the cloud.

## Cloud Storage: Overview

The **Cloud Storage** page allows you to view:

* Total cloud usage of **saved clips**, by location.
* Total cloud usage of **camera backup** footage, by location.
* Total cloud usage of **both** saved clips and camera backup footage combined, by location.

<img src="https://1562067156-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FlMN1EUQcXYfv7FYpGJWR%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f12743551ef7df35eed108e5d9bc25829ee6652e%2F524ca4e96fe121de.png?alt=media" alt="" width="640">

This information allows you to determine the remaining storage space on your Solink account and make adjustments as necessary.

A warning notification is displayed when cloud storage reaches both the 80% and 100% thresholds:

See [How to Free up Space](#how-to-free-up-space) in the next section for more information.

You may also have a pool of locations and/or multiple locations, each with their own storage plan. Use the location selector near the top of the page to switch between a pooled location group or individual locations if applicable:

## How to Free up Space

If you require more space or have exceeded your allotted storage, you can either delete saved clips, reduce the number of backup storage days for one or more of your cameras, or [purchase more storage space](#need-more-backup-storage-how-to-upgrade) from Solink.

**Note**: Admin users receive an in-app notification and email whenever cloud storage reaches 80% and 100% capacity.

* See [**How to Delete a Clip**](/docs/review-events-and-save-evidence/clips/delete-clips.md#how-to-delete-a-clip) for information on deleting clips.
* See [**Cloud Video Backup**](/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/cloud-storage/cloud-video-backup-overview.md) for more information on how to change cloud video storage days and quality for your cameras.
* See [**How to Upgrade**](#need-more-backup-storage-how-to-upgrade) below to learn how to purchase more storage space.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.solink.com/docs/manage-users-locations-and-your-account/cloud-storage/cloud-storage-management.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
